If you did this, you can sure further explore how a superstition might have taken place in the beginning. You can associate so many subtle aspects to it like the position of stars, your own birth-sign. Repeat this and try to find out a pattern. Science does the same with only the physical objects. Religion / magic (of Maya civilization) does this with supernatural aspects. I think one can sure understand in this way. Understanding is never superstition.
